This Ground Beef Stroganoff is made with the most delicious creamy mushroom sauce ever and can be made in under 30 minutes. You can use fillet steak but I opted using ground beef. You start by browning the ground beef in oil as well as the mushrooms and then simmering in a delicious creamy sauce made with cream cheese, heavy cream and sour cream.
This Ground beef Stroganoff is definite comfort food. I love serving this with my Cheesy Cauliflower Mash although you can enjoy it alone. This dish is a great Keto meal because it is low in carbohydrates and high in fat. What I love about the keto diet is that you don’t even really need to worry about the calorie intake, just the carbs. It isn’t one of those diets where you feel like you’re starving all the time.
How to make Ground Beef Stroganoff
In a large deep saucepan over medium heat, cook the ground beef with the chopped onion, garlic and mushrooms, breaking up the meat with a wooden spoon, until meat is brown and the mushroom and onion are soft, about 10-15 minutes. Drain the fat.
Stir in the cream cheese until melted, about 3 minutes. Pour in the broth, heavy cream, and Worcestershire sauce and combine. Simmer for another 6 minutes.
Season with salt and pepper, to taste. Remove from heat and stir in the sour cream. Serve on Cheesy Mashed Cauliflower.
