This Rum Punch Bacardi is made with orange juice, lime juice, either light, dark or coconut rum, and grenadine.

This rum punch recipe is going to make you feel like you are on vacation with every sip! Rum punch cocktail recipe usually consists of Bacardi rum (light, dark, or coconut) and has lots of fruit juice like orange juice, lime juice and grenadine for color. Grenadine syrup can still give the cocktail that fruit punchy color it deserves.

Throw all the cares that you have in this world away, sit back, and enjoy this delicious rum punch. Rum punch was originally made with aqua vitae, rose water, orange juice and sugar. As this drink has evolved, it has always contained the five central ingredients which are a rum, citrus, water and sweetener of some sort. Rum punch is mostly enjoyed with fried chicken or seafood of some sort.

Ingredients

You'll only need a few simple ingredients to make this. The exact measurements are listed in the recipe card below. Here's an overview of what you'll need:

  • Oranges
  • Limes
  • Rum
  • Grenadine
  • Cherries

See recipe card for quantities.

Instructions

In a pitcher, combine the orange juice, lime juice, rum and grenadine.

Substitutions

Orange juice: For best flavor, freshly squeezed is obviously the best. If you are looking for a quick and easy fix, then use store bought orange juice.

Lime juice: Use juice from a fresh lime although you can use store bought lime juice as well.

Rum: You can use light, dark or coconut rum like Malibu.

Grenadine syrup: This provides the best way to sweeten the punch up with a great grenadine taste. Another great grenadine substitute? Pomegranate juice and simple syrup. Mix together 2 parts simple syrup and 1 part pomegranate juice.

Fresh or maraschino cherries: I used fresh cherries although the maraschino cherries works just as good. You can also garnish with an orange slice if you wish.

Variations

Cooking is a chance to be creative! Have fun with it and feel free to make your own variation.

  • Spicy - add Tajin on the rim for a nice spicy kick.
  • Deluxe - add pomegranate juice and simple syrup instead of grenadine.
  • Kid friendly - omit alcohol to make this a fun virgin drink.

This Rum Punch Bacardi is made with orange juice, lime juice, either light, dark or coconut rum, and grenadine.

Equipment

Equipment can have a big impact on how a recipe turns out. Stone bakeware takes longer to heat up than metal pans, and also retain heat for longer, which could make the recipe more watery, or burnt on the outsides.

I love using my Caraway pots, pans and baking sheets for best quality. Get yourself a discount by clicking here!

Storage

This will be good in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.

These ingredients don't stand up well to freezing.

Top tip

Use freshly squeezed orange juice for best flavor.
