I recently bought an air fryer and you know everyone around me heard I got one. You can’t buy an air fryer and not tell everyone you got one, right? After all, it’s healthy frying! You can make this cauliflower in the oven as well – the instructions are in the notes section of the recipe card. Cauliflower has a ton of benefits like supporting a healthy heart and brain, rich in sulforaphane, supports a good hormonal balance and immune system.

I used to love going to the local dive bar in NYC and eating chicken wings, watch gator football and wash it down with my favorite beer. I absolutely love buffalo everything – buffalo chicken sandwich or wrap, buffalo chicken dip, and now buffalo cauliflower. Buffalo Cauliflower definitely has less calories

Ingredients

You'll only need a few simple ingredients to make this. The exact measurements are listed in the recipe card below. Here's an overview of what you'll need:

  • Cauliflower
  • Olive oil
  • Hot Sauce
  • Chili powder
  • Pepper
  • Onion powder
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Ranch of Blue cheese

See recipe card for quantities.

Instructions

Put the cauliflower in a large bowl and throw in the olive oil, hot sauce, chili powder, pepper, onion powder, and salt and toss. In another bowl, add the bread crumbs and the parmesan cheese. Using the hot sauce mixture as glue, toss the cauliflower in the sauce, then coat with the parmesan-bread crumbs, and place on the baking sheet. Repeat with the rest.

Air fry at 350˚F for 15 minutes, shaking a couple times during the cooking process. Cauliflower is done when the florets are a bit browned, but not mushy.

Serve with ranch or blue cheese.

Hint:

Substitutions

Hot Sauce: I used frank’s hot sauce since I had it on hand, although I know Cholula or Crystal works well too. If you have a low spice tolerance, you can opt to using wing sauce.

Oil: I love using olive oil, but you could use vegetable oil, avocado oil, or sunflower oil.

Cauliflower: I bought a fresh head of cauliflower and cut it myself into florets.

Bread crumbs: I used panko bread crumbs for this recipe and they will always be my favorite when it comes to crusted cauliflower. You can use Italian breadcrumbs if you prefer.

Variations

Cooking is a chance to be creative! Have fun with it and feel free to make your own variation.

  • Spicy - add chili pepper flakes into the seasoning mix.
  • Deluxe - serve with ranch, blue cheese or your favorite dipping sauce.
  • Kid friendly - add crushed potato chips.

Equipment

Equipment can have a big impact on how a recipe turns out. Stone bakeware takes longer to heat up than metal pans, and also retain heat for longer, which could make the recipe more watery, or burnt on the outsides.

I love using my Caraway pots, pans and baking sheets for best quality. Get yourself a discount by clicking here!

Storage

This will be good in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.

These Air Fryer Buffalo Panko Cauliflower (Keto) ingredients don't stand up well to freezing.

Top tip

I love using a vinegar based hot sauce like Franks, Cholula or Valentina.
