Description

This is a Tequila Soda made with serrano simple syrup and then adding lime juice, Club soda and rimming with Tajin.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2-3 ounces of tequila, depending how strong you want it
  • 1 ounce serrano simple syrup (see notes)
  • Juice of 3 lime
  • Club soda
  • Tajin seasoning, for rimming the glass
  • Lime wedges
  • Ice

Serrano Simple Syrup

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 whole jalapeño

Instructions

  1. Make the serrano Simple Syrup. Combine ½ cup water and ½ cup sugar into a small pot and add a whole serrano pepper. On low heat simmer until the sugar completely dissolves and immediately remove from heat. Let cool and transfer to a lidded jar. Refrigerate until ready to use, syrup lasts 1 week. Leave the serrano in there to keep that spicy taste!
  2. In an ice-filled cocktail shaker, combine the tequila, serrano simple syrup, lime juice, and shake until chilled.
  3. Rim a glass with a lime wedge then dip in the tajin.
  4. Add fresh ice to the glass, pour the drink over, top with club soda, and garnish with lime wedges.
