Description
This is a Tequila Soda made with serrano simple syrup and then adding lime juice, Club soda and rimming with Tajin.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2-3 ounces of tequila, depending how strong you want it
- 1 ounce serrano simple syrup (see notes)
- Juice of 3 lime
- Club soda
- Tajin seasoning, for rimming the glass
- Lime wedges
- Ice
Serrano Simple Syrup
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 whole jalapeño
Instructions
- Make the serrano Simple Syrup. Combine ½ cup water and ½ cup sugar into a small pot and add a whole serrano pepper. On low heat simmer until the sugar completely dissolves and immediately remove from heat. Let cool and transfer to a lidded jar. Refrigerate until ready to use, syrup lasts 1 week. Leave the serrano in there to keep that spicy taste!
- In an ice-filled cocktail shaker, combine the tequila, serrano simple syrup, lime juice, and shake until chilled.
- Rim a glass with a lime wedge then dip in the tajin.
- Add fresh ice to the glass, pour the drink over, top with club soda, and garnish with lime wedges.
