Description
Bacardi Mojitos are a traditional Cuban drink which are made with white rum, club soda, sugar, limes, mint, and ice.
Ingredients
Scale
- Fresh mint leaves
- 2 oz white rum
- 1 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1 oz simple syrup
- Club soda
- Crushed ice
Instructions
- Begin by taking a handful of fresh mint leaves and placing them in the bottom of a cocktail shaker or sturdy glass. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently crush the mint leaves, releasing their oils and aroma.
- Add the rum, lime juice, and simple syrup to the shaker or glass, and fill it with crushed ice.
- Give everything a good shake or stir until the ingredients are well combined and the outside of the shaker or glass feels frosty.
- Strain the mixture into a tall glass filled with ice. You can use a fine-mesh strainer if you don't want any mint leaves or ice bits in your drink.
- Top off the glass with club soda, and give the mojito a quick stir.
- Garnish the drink with a sprig of fresh mint and a slice of lime, and serve immediately.
Notes
- Only do one lime wedge with the mint leaves or else the mint leaves won't get properly muddled.
