A Caipirinha is a Brazilian cocktail that has three ingredients: limes, sugar and cachaça – Brazil’s famous liquor made of sugarcane. Don’t be fooled with how good it tastes – it is strong! This drink is so straightforward and doesn’t require much work. You will need a muddler to make this. This drink pairs very well with Pao de Queijo.

A couple of summers ago, I spent it at the beach in Rio de Janeiro drinking Caipirinhas. We stayed in the Ipanema region close to the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas. The city is so beautiful and the food and drinks are to die for. I am a huge lover of limes so this simple drink is perfect for me. After one of these, you will definitely feel it, so sip responsibly!

Caipirinhas are now thoroughly enjoyed in the United States and are so quick and easy to make. All you need are cachaca, sugar, limes, and ice. You will need a muddler for this recipe, so make sure you have something to smash the limes!

I would highly recommend making these Caipirinhas for your next happy hour or a day drinking scenario. It is a great way to get the fiesta going and is always a crowd pleaser! This is such an appetizing cocktail. It is so refreshing and is meant to be sipped in the sun. It is currently 18°F here in New York, so I will just be imagining being on a beach under the sun! The limes gives the drink a nice kick. You won't regret making this!

How to make These Caipirinha Brasileira

Add the limes and sugar in a shaker or cup. Muddle the limes and sugar together for a couple of seconds and then add the cachaca and the ice. Combine with a shaker, or alternately, stir well in a glass. Finish with a lime on the rim.
