This BLT Sourdough Sandwich with Spicy Mayo Sauce is made with sourdough bread, bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, and spicy mayo.
Nothing is better than a hearty BLT sandwich paired with a delicious tomato soup. This is a simple BLT sandwich made with bacon, lettuce and tomatoes between two thick sourdough toasted bread. Spread the spicy mayo on each side and it is everything you have ever dreamed of. I used sourdough bread pre sliced from Trader Joes which worked so well for this recipe.
Beefsteak tomatoes are mostly used for this BLT Sandwich with Spicy Mayo Sauce but I prefer the flavor of the Roma tomatoes. Other toppings you could use include jalapeños, chilies, horseradish and even a Dijon mustard. It is super important to salt the tomatoes for 15 minutes, as it highlights the sweetness by acting as a foil. That is why there is salt in every baked good! This BLT Sandwich is actually SO easy to make and I promise you will absolutely adore it! You will start telling yourself you should open a restaurant after making this!
How to make BLT Sourdough Sandwich
Preheat the oven to 400 F.
Cook the bacon. Place the bacon on a baking sheet and cook the bacon for 12-17 minutes. Cooking time depends on the thickness of the bacon. Cook until golden brown and crispy. Set aside on a plate with paper towels.
Prepare the tomatoes. Meanwhile, slice the tomatoes sprinkle salt on them. Let them sit for 15 minutes.
Make the spicy mayo. In a small bowl, make the spicy mayo. Combine the mayo, sriracha and lemon and mix well.
Assemble the sandwich. Spread the mayo on the bread. Lay 3-5 pieces of bacon on the bread. Add the tomatoes and lettuce. Spread more mayo on the other piece of bread. Enjoy!Print
