This Air Fryer Frozen Veggie Burger recipe teaches you how to simply air fry a frozen veggie burger (homemade or store bought) and is made into a delicious burger.

This Air Fryer Frozen Veggie Burger will teach you how to air fry a frozen veggie burger (homemade or store bought) and create a burger.

These burgers are not super fancy, but my nieces loved them. They are crispy, delicious, and can be topped with more veggies. You can use any brand of veggie burger patties for this. I used the Pure Farmland brand, but you can use whatever brand you want. I love topping a nice salad with the veggie patty or serving on a bed of rice. For this, we will be making burgers.

There are so many different kinds of veggie burgers out there and are usually made with beans, chickpeas, lentils, mushrooms and vegetables. Not only is this recipe so delicious, but it’s so convenient to make and requires no defrosting.

Air frying is very different to baking, so I would go by the timing below instead of what is on the packaging. The air fryer uses dry heat that circulates around making the food cook fast, making this dish a quick and easy meal.

Ingredients

You'll only need a few simple ingredients to make this. The exact measurements are listed in the recipe card below. Here's an overview of what you'll need:

  • Meatless burger patties
  • Burger buns
  • Red onion
  • Arugula
  • Tomatoes
  • Mayonnaise
  • Lemon juice

See recipe card for Air Fryer Frozen Veggie Burger.

Instructions

Air fry for a total of 16 minutes, flipping once halfway.

Preheat the air fryer to 370 °F. Remove the veggie burgers from the packaging – no need to add oil or grease for the air fryer. Place the veggie burgers in a single layer at the bottom of the air fryer basket. You may need to so this in batches.

Make the Aioli. Add the mayonnaise in a bowl and stir in the lemon juice. Top the burgers with the aioli.

Substitutions

Vegetable burger: Pure Farmland, Morning Star, or Dr. Praegers are great brands for this.

Buns: I love using potato buns for any burger recipe, but feel free to use sesame buns or whatever you prefer.

Lettuce: I used arugula but butter or romaine lettuce works as well.

Tomato: I love using roma tomatoes when I make burgers, but you can use beefsteak or tomato on the vine.

Variations

Cooking is a chance to be creative! Have fun with it and feel free to make your own variation.

  • Spicy - add hot sauce on the burger.
  • Deluxe - add guacamole, crispy onions or pickles.
  • Kid friendly - add crushed potato chips (ketchup chips!)

Equipment

Equipment can have a big impact on how a recipe turns out. Stone bakeware takes longer to heat up than metal pans, and also retain heat for longer, which could make the recipe more watery, or burnt on the outsides.

I love using my Caraway pots, pans and baking sheets for best quality. Get yourself a discount by clicking here!

Storage

This will be good in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.

You can freeze the patties for this Air Fryer Frozen Veggie Burger.

Top tip

Cook the burgers in batches if they don't fit in a single layer.
